Top Safety Accreditation for GES Group

GES Group have been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in Health and Safety in the workplace.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme, which recognises extremely rigorous standards in Health and Safety Management among Contractors. It is used by thousands of companies in the UK, including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Employing over 90 people, GES Group are expert and specialist Electrical and Mechanical Engineers involved in the industrial sector, working with customers from a wide range of industries, such as: manufacturing, aerospace, quarrying, pharmaceutical, renewable power systems, utility companies, and more. Currently working for 90% of NI’s Top 100 Businesses, GES enjoyed 23% growth in 2016, and is set to achieve its growth aims in 2017.

The company’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business, as well as the demands of high profile customers, who expect Contractors to work to strict safety guidelines. The accreditation will enhance GES Group’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers and industry alike.

Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor said, “Major organisations simply cannot afford the risk of employing Contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound Health and Safety policies in place. More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management, in the way that GES Group have done. The company’s high standard has set an example, which hopefully will be followed by other companies within the sector.”

David Moore, Managing Director of GES Group said, “We take our responsibility for the health, safety, and welfare of our team very seriously, and we aim to ensure that the work we carry out is not only to the highest standards of quality, but also that our employees work in a safe environment, to recognised safe systems of work. We invest in accredited systems such as ISO 18001, 14001, and 9001, as well as SafeContractor and Investors in People, to not only provide customers with evidence of our commitment to Health and Safety, the Environment, Quality, and our people, but to also hold ourselves accountable as a team.”
